Inverted Roof System Diagram

The concrete screed (A) should be free of sharp projections and tapered to falls.

  1. The upstands should be painted with bitumen primer (B) to a height of not less than 150 mm.
  2. 45° fillets (H) should be fitted against all upstands in order to avoid having to bend the membrane through 90°.
  3. Loose lay a layer of Roofstar 40200 (C) but torch onto the perimeter and upstands to a height of 150 mm above the maximum expected water level. The sheets should have 80 mm longitudinal laps and 150mm transverse laps which should be fully torched.
  4. Torch on a layer of Dermaflex 40160 (D). The laps should be 80 mm longitudinal and 150 mm transverse and should be staggered in relation to the laps of the underlay.
  5. Loose lay the insulation board (E) which should have a closed cell structure so that it will not absorb water.
  6. A layer of non-woven bitumen free polyester (F) should be laid over the insulation with laps of about 5 cm.

A layer of round gravel (G) 4 to 5 cm deep should be spread on top of the polyester layer (E) to act as ballast.
